Strength and conditioning

As much as we all dislike conditioning, we often underestimate the importance of keeping our muscles in shape. If you have ever taken any time off from gymnastics, long enough for you to lose some muscle tone, you probably noticed some skills were much harder to do when you get back. In addition, learning new skills becomes more difficult. Often, it’s because your muscles are not strong enough. Conditioning also helps injury prevention especially for those gymnasts who are training up to 2-3 times per week and performing dismounts and tumbles, as the pressure being placed upon the body is great.
